Calcaneus Locking Plate-I is suitable for the fixation of calcaneal fractures.
It is divided into large and small sizes, the length of small size is 49.5mm, and the length of large size is 63.3mm.
Advantages
With the increase of axial load of the traditional plate,the screws will gradually loosen,which is prone to the loss of fracture reduction and even the failure of internal fixation.The new type of calcaneus locking plate adopts the principle of External Fixator,and its bone screws can be locked on the implant locking plate through the thread of the trauma screw tail,which does not depend on the friction between the orthopedic Titanium Plate and bone.It can provide strong enough angular stability even in the case of abnormal osteoporosis, and is especially suitable for comminuted calcaneal fractures.
Operation instructions
1.Lateral decubitus position with the affected side on the top.Patients with unilateral calcaneal fractures can be placed in the lateral decubitus position,or in the supine position.Patients with bilateral calcaneal fractures can be placed in the supine or prone position.Generally speaking,the prone position is appropriate if there are no other associated injuries.
2.Lateral calcaneal "L" incision,under the control of tourniquet,the fracture site can be well exposed during the operation.The lateral calcaneal "L" incision can minimize the complications such as peroneal longus tendinitis,flap blood supply occlusion,and sural nerve injury.
3.The skin was cut and the subcutaneous tissue was bluntly separated to expose the fracture site.
4.The displaced bone fragment was reduced by prying with a sharp hook and temporarily fixed with Kirschner wire.
5.Select the appropriate calcaneal locking plate to install on the calcaneus.
6.Check the stability of the fracture,withdraw the Kirschner wire used for temporary fixation, check whether the internal fixation of the fracture is stable, whether there is bone loosening, and then tighten the screws one by one, clear and suture the incision.
