Cuboid bones are short bones, one on each foot. The cuboid bone is the only bone in the midfoot that supports the lateral column of the foot. It is located between the fourth and fifth metatarsal bones and the calcaneus. It is the basic structure that forms the transverse longitudinal arch of the foot. Cuboidal fractures are uncommon and can be divided into avulsion and compression fractures and are caused by direct or indirect violence.
